WELCOME
The purpose of this website is to introduce Career and Technical Education (CTE) as a comprehensive 21st century solution to problematic

employment preparation issues and traditional education reform issues. It is important that CTE be seen in this broader light rather than just as a simplistic evolutionary response in the development of educational techniques used by high schools to more effectively move high school students to their next level of academic maturity.

As rural populations urbanize and household needs for [livable] income increase, the supply and demand for both blue and white collar working opportunities will raise in tandem. However, as indicated by current and projected employment statistics in the United States and related global circumstances, the need for certified technicians and career-ready professionals will substantially outstrip their availability. The gap between the website title above and the information content below is an intentional metaphoric reference to the skills gap that is representative of this need.
After discussing the historical development of CTE, this website explores nine essential topics that in totality will provide a general background of CTE. Each topic is supported by the video links on this page as well as with separate menu links to related information pages.
